In vietnam, it's phoa. In thai, we called it lok chin. In Malaysia, you can called it kuey tiew beef or gau yok fun as commonly known in cantonese! This variation of beef noodle is one of the best in the heart of KL. Popularly patronise by local chinese community since it's opening in 1954, the interior of this kopitiam maintained it's unpretentious old world charm. The soup, an authentic base flavoured by strong spices in well-balanced harmony is the soul in this wonderful bowl of surprises. Paired the noodle with a dash of their original chillies sauce made from scratch, this beef noodle made it impossible for others to emulate.
Where can one savour this? in one of the kopitiam within few blocks from Sing Mah Building near Central Market. Pretty easy! *grin*
